A few key things were the Louisiana Purchase in which he uses the Necessary and Proper clause of the Constitution to justify borrowing money to purchase the Louisiana Territory from Napoleon. It came with a hefty 15 million dollar price. Another highlight of his career was the Lewis and Clark expedition which he funded and was led by Meriwether Lews and William Clark to map and observe the newly bought land up the Mississippi River. 1900's

Name: Abraham Lincoln
Presidency Term: March 4, 1861 – April 15, 1865
President Number: 16
Abraham Lincoln was a very honest man. Hence the nickname, Honest Abe. He got the job done yet not in the most efficient or speedy way. After coming into office, he already carried the harsh burden of our nation slowly separating between the Union and Confederacy. With much success and hardship, he pulled everyone together and united our nation as a whole. He passed various laws and proclamations, yet the one that he is most famous for is the Emancipation Proclamation. This stated that all African Americans in the states that had seceded from the Union, were now free. With clever wording, this left slavery untouched in the loyal border states. Although it didn't free slaves immediately, it was the foundation for their freedom in the long run. The emancipation Proclamation gave way for the enslaved African Americans in the South to be liberated.

Name: Theodore Roosevelt
Presidency Term: September 14, 1901 – March 4, 1909
President Number: 26
Teddy Roosevelt helped our nation in many ways. He established the various food regulation acts, the square deal, along with the building of the Panama Canal. He also had a strong impact on foreign policy in which he had helped in the ending of the Russo-Japanese War amongst many other events. Not to mention how he fought for the people but also maintained a connection with those in big businesses. A key thing he did was he took notice into how Trusts were bad for society and therefore worked to bring competition back into the marketplace. Throughout his 8 years in office, he busted 9 trusts, which gained much support from the people. On the other hand, he was also friends with a few businessmen, therefore he made a few loopholes so they could still continue their monopolistic ways. Just with that, TR had brought a stable working system to our society, which carried on through present times and left him with the nickname - The Trust Buster.
